Perkins 4.107 Oil Filter Conversion Kit
If you have one of the early marine versions of these engines with the paper oil filters inside a re-useable steel housing, then you will know what a messy business it is to do an oil change. A lot of oil can end up in the bilge!
Our aftermarket oil filter conversion kit for Perkins 4.107 can help, as it uses a modern readily available 'spin on' canister type filter, that will lose a lot less oil when it is being changed. The filter hangs vertically below the aluminium filter head that is designed to bolt directly to the engine block fitting. To ensure that the filter assembly will not foul your engine bearer, note that the distance from the engine block mounting bolts to the bottom of the filter is 160 mm.
We are often asked whether the conversion is compatible with original oil cooler adapter plates. There is no easy answer as there are a number of versions, but if your adapter is a two piece assembly with a separate filter head that has bolt centre dimensions of 6.7 cm, then our new filter head will mate up with your adapter.
