We offer 2 types of this Volvo Penta D2-55 Alternator

• 1. A high quality aftermarket 12 volt, 70 amp, 'isolated earth', direct replacement alternator to fit the earlier marine engines Volvo Penta D2-55 and D2-55B (pulley not included). These have a 'V' belt pulley
  We include in the kit a packet of the correct electrical spade connectors and also a wiring diagram to help with fitting.
  
  These alternators are manufactured by Prestolite Electric, USA based and a world leader in automotive charging systems. They come with a standard 12 month warranty.

• 2. A high quality aftermarket, high output, 12 volt, 115 amp, ' earth return', direct replacement alternator for the later Volvo Penta D2-55C, D2-55D, D2-55E and D2-55F marine engine. These have a 'ribbed' belt.
  This alternator has an electronic sensor which enables a high battery capacity. At engine idle speed, the alternator can output 35 amps, and at engine cruising speed it delivers approximately 100amps, with up to 150amps showing on the supplied test data sheets. Electrical connections are for battery positive (+), dashboard warning light, tachometer and battery 'sense'.
  With a new 'original equipment' alternator from Volvo Penta main dealers costing in the region of £700, our alternative alternator represents excellent value!
