Volvo Penta MD22 Oil Filter

Volvo Penta fitted two different genuine oil filter housings to the MD22 engine range, which require different filters. 

• Option 1 (Early) for MD22, (1988 to 94) MD22A, (1994 to 95) and some MD22L engine versions (our Perkins branded filter)
• Option 2 (Late) for later MD22L and MD22P engine versions (our Bosch branded filter)

Note that the 'early' versions of these engines have a filter that screws down on to the housing from above, whilst the 'later' versions have a filter that screws up to the housing from below.
